(Step-By-Step Directions)

The Dinner Theatre presentation of “Harvest Ball” was a great success with four showings at the Trinity United church hall.

In the play Captain “Bait Bucket” Oxner (Edgar Gerhardt) and his wife Mrs. Oxner (Joy Jones) hold their Annual Harvest Ball.  It is attended by Senator Schwartz (David Leary), his imbibing wife Mrs. Schwartz (Sheila Ritcey), Skipper Moosehead (Bobby Jones) and his wife the fastidious Mrs.  Moosehead (Joan Nauss) and the assembled community guests.  The head table and the regular guests are attended by the Oxner’s staff namely:  Fenton (Kevin Creaser) the butler, Dick (Mark Currie) the piano man, Sadie (Daphne Strowbridge) the maid and Rosie (Ron Frampton) the 2nd and repetitive maid.

The Oxner’s Harvest Ball serves as the occasion for the hostess to announce her search for a previously unknown sibling.  The brilliant and randy detective Jonathan P. Weatherspoon III (Chris Anderson) accompanied by his amorous assistant Miss Penelope Sweet ‘n’ Low (Mary Ann Bennett) leads the search which proves to be highly entertaining and includes audience participation in singing, dancing and general merriment.

The play was produced by Joan Nauss, and directed by Chris Anderson.
